I recently dreamt the Lord, as a Master Chef, was coaching us as His people, like a chef would coach students. He instructed us to put our swords into solid bowls and use the swords to mix the ingredients. Through this, something new was created and He was excited to reveal the results. Then He said to us, “There’s more to discover.”
I feel the Lord is saying in this new era we need to surrender what we feel we know to learn new things and new ways. Some of this may seem counter-intuitive for us or require a paradigm shift. There is so much more to discover for those who are teachable and hungry in heart.
A sword is a picture of precision and sharpness, dividing soul and spirit. A sword uncovers, separates and pierces. It is the word of God applied as a weapon for battle (Hebrews 12:12-13, Psalms 149:6-9). Yet here is a picture of the sword that combines ingredients to create something pleasing to God. This piercing sword of truth is a tool for this season that will combine different elements for God’s Kingdom purposes.
Taking up the sword for battle in this season may look different than we would expect. It will bring things together in order to create something new, rather than break apart. This is the power that will come from rightly handling our swords (scripture) given to us in this season and acting on His word mixed with faith.
Take some time to ask the Lord how you are to use your sword (His word) in this season in your times of prayer and worship.
What actions of faith is He asking you to take today based upon His promises?
2 Timothy 2:15- Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. (NIV)
Hebrews 4:2- For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. (NIV)
