Isaiah 56:10 -“His watchmen are blind; they are all without knowledge; they are all silent…dreaming, lying down, loving to slumber.”

The Spirit calls, “Take your place as a watchman. Guard your gates; the gates of influence, family, homes, eyes, ears and hearts.”

There is a charge from Holy Spirit, “Let nothing unclean come in. Keep watch! Pray!”

In scripture, a watchman is one that’s alert and vigilant, with sharp sight. Watchmen sound the trumpet and give warning to those who cannot see. They intercede, cover and fill gaps.

Isaiah 21:6-8 -“Upon a watchtower I stand, O Lord, continually by day, and at my post I am stationed whole nights.”

The Lord says “Stand guard! Don’t fall asleep or slumber. All-the-time alertness is required. Not only when in battle or dark places, but in the little things.”

When a bright light is switched off, darkness is obvious. The enemy is more subtle and slow, trickling in by stealing heart territory. The enemy’s strategy is to come close, into homes, into the very depths of hearts and minds. He comes through idols brought in, through what is watched, listened to, read, researched, celebrated, and given room.

No! The call of the Lord is to define light from dark. He says, “No more!” The Lord is not satisfied with a dimly lit, slightly salty bride.

Let nothing unclean come in! Full stop. No excuses, reasoning or rights.

Clear out and clean up. Let nothing of offence, pride, judgement or distraction take root. No little foxes that cause compromise, dulling, and lukewarmness.

Are you aware of His kindness of conviction in an area? His kindness leads to repentance.
Throw off all that hinders without delay! Align your heart now and step up higher into purity and holiness.
Ask the Lord what gate He is calling you to stand guard over in a new way.

Lord, shake and wake up Your slumbering watchmen. Release the trumpet sound. Call Your watchmen and restore them to their posts! Let eyes see and ears hear.

Expose, sharpen, turn up the light and heat! By Your Spirit, cut between bone and marrow. Make us sharp-sighted and with understanding; present, alert, awake and ready for You!
