Lord, we pray for Syria, a land with long histories of war, trauma, and suffering. You keep track of all their sorrows (Psalm 56:8). You collect their tears in Your bottle. Our hearts feel their pain, but we choose to remain steadfast, O God (Psalm 57:7), our hearts trust in You. Through many obstacles, You have preserved Syrians within this nation and those scattered abroad. You haven’t forgotten them. We pray that You will reveal to them that they haven’t escaped Your sight.
Syria is a nation surrounded by countries on every side. Father, we bring to you the struggle and where many have not received care from their neighbors. God, we pray that you would awaken compassion, generosity and love in the nations surrounding Syria. We pray for Your peace, justice, mercy and provision to come through willing hearts that love Syria.
We demolish the negative words that have been spoken over this nation. Where it was declared hopeless, irredeemable, lost, desolate, barren, ruined – we release a restoration of identity for Syria and its people. Their destiny is in the hands of the Lord!
Lord, You gather those who are lost, and raise beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:13). Lord, You plant, grow, and restore. You are the One who brings transformation, and healing. You are the Hope of Syria.
We activate Syrians to hunger for You. You promise to satisfy them (Matthew 5:6). By the power of Your Spirit, may Your love be experienced in the hearts of Syrians worldwide. May their hearts know what true love and hope is. By the working of Your Spirit, draw them to look forward, to boldly approach You and boldly choose You.
God of All Hope, fill Syrians completely with joy and peace in trusting You. May they overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13).
We stand on the promise that every nation, tribe, and tongue will gather before Your throne one day (Revelation 7:9-10), and we anticipate that glorious day when we will worship alongside Syrian believers. Amen.
