Sound of Many Harps

Received on November 2022

Sarah Darby

This is Part 2 that follows, “Take Down Your Harp”.

Psalm 137:1-4 (BSB) “By the rivers of Babylon we sat and wept when we remembered Zion. There on the willow tree we hung our harps, for there our captors asked us for songs, our tormentors demanded songs of joy; they said, ‘Sing us one of the songs of Zion!’ How can we sing the songs of the Lord while in a foreign land?”

God is currently setting His people free from the captivity of expectations not from Him and performance in worship. In Psalms, these demands were made in Babylon, representing worldliness that’s contrary to the Kingdom.

It wasn’t a coincidence that they ‘hung up their harps’ in Babylon. Revelation14:2 tells us God’s voice and the sound of Heaven is like the melody of many harps. That means in this place, they stopped releasing His voice. In a place of captivity and torment, performing for the demands of others, we no longer resound or release His pure sound of victory.

I felt Him say, “In this season, I will release My true sound as a roar that grows, builds, aligns and purifies all that are affected by its frequency.”

HIS VOICE is revealed through the sound of our collective worship, each one contributing. Let us take up our harps again and join in His symphony, resounding with such a ferocious frequency that every atmosphere vibrates with LIGHT. Yahweh’s first sound ended in LIGHT (Genesis 1:3, 2 Corinthians 4:6). This is the power of pure worship.

Can you hear it? The sound of Heaven touching earth. Can you see it? It’s here. Join in!

Revelation 14:2-3 (ESV) “And I heard a voice from heaven like the roar of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder. The voice I heard was like the sound of harpists playing on their harps, and they were singing a new song before the throne.”

Psalm 40:3 (BSB) “He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord.”
